Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Manoj Jarange, a Maratha quota activist, issued a strong warning to the state government, stating that there would be serious consequences if elections proceed without addressing the Maratha community's demand for reservation. Jarange called for a major gathering during the Dasara festival in Narayangadh, Beed district, urging Marathas to unite and stand firm in their quest for reservation. He emphasized that he will not compromise on any demands, including the withdrawal of criminal cases against community members statewide. Jarange cautioned that the state government would face repercussions in the upcoming polls if it continues to overlook the Maratha community's demands. Stressing that this issue goes beyond reservation and touches on the dignity and equality of the Marathas, Jarange highlighted the community's significance as nearly half of the state's population. He criticized certain individuals within the ruling party for creating obstacles and not acknowledging the Maratha community as 'Kunbis' for reservation purposes, citing legal and administrative reasons. Despite assurances from Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's government to address the matter, progress has been slow, causing dissatisfaction among the Maratha community and uncertainty among political parties, including the ruling coalition.
